2019 in review

I saw another author make a post about everything she’d launched this year and promptly decided to steal the idea. So, without further ado, 2019 publications just in case you missed one the first time around!

Aimee Easterling's 2019 releases

New releases:

Wolf Dreams — After spending several months wide, the first book in the Moon Blind duology went into Kindle Unlimited in November.

Moon Dancer — The second book in the Moon Blind duology is also currently in KU.

Thirteenth Werewolf and Other Stories — This wide anthology is full of stories that were originally written as newsletter-only freebies, but the first story is brand new.

Moon Stalked — The first book in a new series. This one launched on all retailers but soon thereafter I pulled it into Kindle Unlimited. It will be wide again at some point, though, so please don’t despair if you missed the official launch window.

Alpha’s Hunt — This will be on 2020’s list officially. But, just in case you want to jumpstart the new decade, book two in the Woelfin Awakening series is up for preorder now on all retailers.

2019 werewolf box sets

Box sets:

Moon Marked Trilogy — I recently bundled up my reader-favorite series, and the resulting box set will be at a special 99-cent price point for one more day. Grab it while it’s cheap!

Wolf Nights — This is a multi-author, free box set. I picked some of my favorite authors to include, so I highly recommend trying it out.

Magic After Dark — I’m afraid you missed this limited-time, multi-author, free box set if you weren’t reading along all year. I’ve linked to its Goodreads page in case you want to check out the included authors. Once again, I chose novels I thought my readers would particularly enjoy.

Aimee Easterling's 2019 audio releases

Audio:

Newly available on all retailers and via your local library: Wolf’s Bane, Shadow Wolf, and Fox Blood. (Well, Fox Blood is currently seeping into retailers. It is 100% definitely on Kobo, though, and should reach the others by the end of the year…I hope.)

Newly available on Amazon, Audible, and Apple: Lone Wolf Dawn, Wolf Landing, the Alpha Underground Trilogy bundle, Alpha Ascendant, and the Wolf Rampant Trilogy bundle.

What’s coming up in 2020?

I can definitely tell you I will write words! Not sure how many or in what form or when they’ll reach your ereaders/headphones. If you want up-to-the-minute release information, be sure to sign up for my email list. Have a great new year!

Fire Kissed is now live!

Fire KissedI’m excited to announce that the Fire Kissed anthology is now live on Amazon and FREE to borrow with Kindle Unlimited! This box set contains a lucky thirteen never-before-published novellas by urban-fantasy and paranormal-romance authors…including myself.

My contribution is Incendiary Magic, a short but action-packed prequel to the Dragon Mage universe. Fee is a fire mage with an impossible mission — infiltrate the home base of her dragon overlords and destroy them. You can try out the first chapter here.

But I hope you don’t just buy the box set and skip straight to my story. I haven’t read all of the other contributions yet, but the blurbs alone have me waiting with baited breath to sit down with my kindle this evening and give them a try. There’s a high-stakes poker game, an accidentally kidnapped not-quite-bride, and lots and lots of dragons. Plenty to keep me busy long into the night!

The anthology is only up for three short months, so don’t delay. Grab your copy here and enjoy!

Six free urban fantasy books just for you

Urban fantasy starter library

When I’m not writing, I’m often reading…which is what gave me the idea for my current project. I’ve watched others’ permafree box sets enviously for a while, waiting to be invited…and then I realized I should obviously make one of my own.

But I didn’t take the usual path of big box sets who include anyone who cares to apply. In fact, I didn’t let *anyone* apply. Instead, I pored back over my Goodreads reviews and contacted my very favorite indie authors of urban fantasy and paranormal romance. I had to beg one author to take her book out of KDP Select so it would be eligible for the permafree box set and had to beg another one to let me include a normally paid book for free.

To cut a long story short, Moon Magic contains Shiftless plus five other novels that I suspect most of my readers will adore. And you can download a free copy at any or all of the following retailers:

 Amazon nook apple google smashwords

If you give it a whirl, I’ll be very curious to hear which of the included stories was your favorite. And don’t just tell me! You’ll make the day of six authors at once if you take the time to leave a review and/or tell a friend when you’re done. Thanks so much for your support! You are why I write.

Last call on 99-cent deals

Paranormal After DarkI just wanted to give you a quick heads-up that Half Wolf will be raising to full price Saturday. So if you want to nab it at the 99-cent fan rate, now’s your chance!

And while I’m telling you about 99-cent books, Paranormal After Dark (a 20-novel box set that includes my Complete Bloodling Serial) is marked down to 99 cents today too. This box set could provide a month of reading for a very low price. I hope you enjoy it!

The BBW and the Beast

Happily Ever Alpha

One of the exclusive offerings in the Happily Ever Alpha box set is Sylvia Frost’s The BBW and the Prince. I’ll admit that I almost didn’t start on this story because the abbreviation BBW (big, beautiful woman) in the title made me think it was going to be erotica — all sex, no story. But then I read a teaser for the second book in the series and was immediately hooked. I’m a sucker for a good fairy-tale retelling, so I immediately turned back to the box set and flipped to The BBW and the Prince.

I was instantly drawn into the interesting world-building, which was painted with a very light but elegant hand (no infodumps here!). The author’s writing is a notch above most paranormal romances and I ended up thoroughly enjoying the story. I don’t want to spoil anything, but suffice it to say that “Beauty” is legally blind and the beast is a werewolf. Expected and unexpected antics occur, the pages turned awfully darn fast, and I was ready for the sequel before I knew it.

Now I just have 19 more novels to enjoy in this high-value box set!

Interview with a were-jaguar

Jaguar at the PortalAimee: Thanks for dropping by, Ixchel and Finn. I thought it might be fun to test your knowledge of each other in the Newlywed Game!
Ixchel: But we’re…

Finn: Sounds like fun!

Ixchel: …Not married. Okay, whatever.

Aimee: Thanks for being such good sports. You’ll notice you each have a notepad in front of you. I’m going to start with an easy question about Finn. He’ll write down his answer and then Ixchel has to guess what he wrote. Finn, if you could be any animal, what would you be?

[They pause while Finn scribbles on the notepad.]

Ixchel: [rolling her eyes] This is an easy one. A jaguar, of course.

Aimee: Finn? [She accepts the pad of paper out of his hand and takes a look.] Oops! Not quite right. Looks like Finn would be…a dolphin!

Ixchel: But that makes no sense! You are a were-jaguar.

Finn: She said, if I could be any animal, which would I be. And I’d be a dolphin.

Ixchel: [sighing] Okay. Let’s get this over with. I’ve got puppies in the waiting room that need their shots. What’s next?

Aimee: Now we get to test Finn’s knowledge. So I’ll ask Ixchel — what do you consider your greatest weakness?

[Finn scrunches his eyebrows together, obviously thinking hard as Ixchel scribbles for a long time on her pad of paper.]

Aimee: Okay, Finn, you’re up. What’s Ixchel’s greatest failing?

Finn: So, first of all, this is one of those trick questions that men have a right not to answer.

Ixchel: Oh, come on. I’m not going to get mad at you.

Finn: [gazing into her eyes] But, see, it’s not really a trick question. Because Aimee didn’t ask what I think is your greatest failing — which, by the way, is nothing. She asked what you think is your greatest failing. And you’d say…trust.

Aimee: Well, it seemed like Ixchel was writing a novel over there. So let’s see if Finn was right.
[Ixchel grins as she flips the paper over. The edges are covered with doodles, but in the center she’s boldly scrawled “TRUST.”]

Aimee: Finn’s on a roll! Okay, let’s see if Ixchel can catch up as we ask Finn….what would prompt you to tell a lie?

[Now it’s Finn’s turn to look uncomfortable, but he quickly scribbles his answer.]

Aimee: Ixchel?

Ixchel: [reaching over and taking Finn’s hand] You know, we can leave if you want to.

Finn: [taking a deep breath] No, I’m good. It’s your chance to shine.

Ixchel: Okay, in that case, Finn would say — fear.
Teaser image

Aimee: Looks like you know him pretty well after all. Now, for our final question. Ixchel…do you believe in love at first sight?

[Finn perks back up as they wait for Ixchel to decide. She taps the pen against her lips, scrunches up her nose, then shrugs and writes.]

Aimee: [accepting the paper, then smiling knowingly] So, what do you think, Finn?

Finn: [sounding positive of the outcome] She doesn’t, but I do.
[Ixchel’s stiff spine melts a bit as she takes the paper back from the interviewer and flips the pad over. It reads “I didn’t used to…but
I’ve changed my mind.”]
Aimee: Well, it looks like it’s a tie, folks!

Finn: You could say that. Or you could say we both won.

[Finn pulls Ixchel in for a kiss on the lips.]

Aimee: Ooookay. Let’s keep this PG, kids. We’ll try out another round after this commercial break.

Deep-voiced announcer: Want to learn more about Finn and Ixchel’s adventures facing down Mexican gods and falling in love? Check out Aimee Easterling’s Jaguar at the Portal, available for a limited time in the 21-novel bundle Happily Ever Alpha. When once upon a time isn’t enough….
