The Lost Spells<\/a> by Robert MacFarlane and Jackie Morris is a really lovely book that transcends genre. It feels a bit like a children’s book for adults, with the suck-you-in illustrations and the admonition that it’s best read aloud. And, at the same time, the book reads as a combination of going out into the woods and stumbling across something you see seldom enough to be magical plus chanting “When the Dark Comes Rising” at the top of your lungs in your city backyard when you’re too young to realize the neighbors are going to think you’re a witch.<\/p>\n![\"Red](\"http:\/\/aimeeeasterling.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/DSCN2721b-1024x768.jpg\")
